Media
Part of the problem I experience as someone new to marketing has been where to go to get maximum coverage and advertising of my book and events. I live in Dumfries and Galloway so the following have been very useful for me. I shall be adding to this with national links as and when I discover them, so please bear with me.
thecommonty@gmail.com : this is a community, volunteer-run site that promotes events, exhibits etc in the D & G area. It also has a weekly newsletter and submissions need a photo
DGWGO.com : a free site for adverising wares, events, and for finding events that you can participate in to promote yourself
cabn@dumgal.gove.uk : to promote your arts, find out about jobs events and what's going on in the arts/crafts scene in D & G
dgwriters : a member's site where you can discuss issues, promote your work and hear about others' achievements
D & G link on Facebook : a community hub
www.aliveradio.net : plugs for local writers - contact is Kath Lord-Green
Carol Hogarth at D G Life is a journalist always looking for local stories/achievements
Carolyn Yates also posts on Facebook - www.facebook.com/wigtownwritersgathering and www.facebook.com/groups
